In March 1974, the Red Guide to Great Britain & Ireland was reintroduced after a 43 year absence. Four years work went into producing the new 1974 edition with over 15,000 establishments being examined and evaluated. The result was a list of 2,330 hotels, 331 motels and 981 restaurants located in over 1,400 towns and villages throughout the UK & Ireland.
